What does 8p5 or the little star mean on these guitar tabs??
i would say it is for a pull off of the note on the 8th fret back to the note on the 5th fret... you should hold the fret 5 with your finger 1 and hit the fret 8 with finger 4... pick the note and release your finger while still holding the note on fret 5... and the x2 means you play that section two times

8p5 means you pick on the eight with a finger already on five then you %26quot;pull off%26quot; (take your finger or the eight allowing a small amount of sound to come from the five)
the x2 means to repeat the section twice
